We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in, machinery that gives abundance has left us in want.

Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind.

We think too much and feel too little,

more than machinery we need humanity,

more than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness,

without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together.

「虫」というものは少年において最初の「他者」だと何かで読んだことがある。

異質なモノ、退治するモノ、対峙するモノ。

多くの場合「虫」は少年達の手によって殺められる「殺生」の通過儀礼であり、多くの内気少年の稀な「友人」である。

また、妄想から作り上げられる「仮想敵国」のエネミーだったりもする。

ひょっとすると最初のセックスの対象かも知れない。

手塚治虫の場合

マンガの神様 TEZUKA Osamu を知らない人は少ないが、彼が無類の昆虫少年であったことを知る人も、また少ないのではないだろうか。旧制中学時代から既に、彼は本名「治」の後に「蟲」をつなげて「治蟲」というペンネームを用いていた。実際には「歩行虫」と当て字をする「オサムシ」は、マイマイカブリの一種で「首が長くて目玉がギョロとしている」その形相が自分に似ている…との由来で好んで名乗っていたようだ。

山下清の場合

子供の頃、周囲の子供達にいじめられ、一人で遊ぶ事が多かった清。

中でも虫捕りは、当時まだ豊かな自然があった浅草の自宅付近で、弟達と楽しんでいたと云う。

そしてこの虫捕りは、清の初期の貼絵に大きな影響を与えていたと思われる。その初期の作品には大好きだった昆虫や花など、身近なものを題材にする事が多く、その制作風景を見て学園の先生は帽子や机の中に入れた虫が紙の上に表現され、清はこれと遊んでいるようでその姿は美しくあったと語ったと云う。

『蝶々は虫の中で一番きれいな虫で　蝶々の好きな人もあれば　嫌いな人もいる　蝶々には粉があって　その粉を汚がって嫌がる人がいる　好きな人が蝶々をつかまえて遊んでいると　汚いから逃がせと言うので　せっかく上手くつかまえた蝶々を逃がすのが惜しいのです』

アテーナーからは機織や女のすべき仕事の能力を、

アプロディーテーからは男を苦悩させる魅力を、

ヘルメースからは犬のように恥知らずで狡猾な心を与えられた。

そして、神々は最後に彼女に決して開けてはいけないと言い含めて箱（壺ともいわれる　詳細は後述）を持たせ、エピメーテウスの元へ送り込んだ。（中略）神々からつかわされた女というものがいかに男たちの災いとなっているか熱弁している。

あの、50年代のインチキ臭いアメリカSF映画で聞ける怪しい音。

テルミンの魅力は音もさることながら、演奏が舞踏的で、動的、視覚的要素が伴うというところにあるように思う。

以前、学研から出ていた「大人の科学」の「テルミン」を購入した。あれは入門器というよりほとんどおもちゃだ。

最近ダイソーの商品だけで自作できるという話題を見つけたのでいかにリンク先を記しておく。

桜は散り、蒼い葉を茂らせ、かつてあった場所の、かつてあったものを押し流す。

しばらくすると北には死んだはずの桜が満開という便り。

8月は去り、冷たい無垢が吹き、かつてあった場所の。かつてあった物を洗い流す。

しばらくすると北の方角に名残惜しげな積乱雲。

死んだ思いは北へ帰っていくのだろうか？

南住まいの俺には北のことなど真偽を確かめるすべが無い。

ただあるのは北に帰った思いの置き土産、妄想だけ。
